How do I create a My Monster Account?

1 What are the benefits?

A My Monster account offers:

  • automatic search agents that alert you when suitable jobs are posted to Monster
  • a structured & comprehensive CV creation tool
  • the ability to use your CV to apply online to jobs posted on Monster
  • the option to give employers access to your CV so they can search for you instead of you searching for them
  • an automatically updated list of all the positions you have applied for online with Monster, so you can keep track of your applications
  • the ability to post questions on all our message boards (so you can talk to our experts and get advice on your career)

2 Opening a My Monster account

From the Monster.co.uk home page and click on My Monster in either the black bar at the top of the page or on the small black box half way down the left hand side of the home page [View Image]. This will take you to the My Monster login page.

Here, click on the sentence that says "click here to create a new account". This will take you through to a short form that you need to fill out in order to register. It will take about 2 minutes to complete.

Any section of this screen that has a red asterisk (*) is a required field and must be completed in order to set up an account.

You can choose your own username and password. Try to be as unique as possible because Monster has such a large number of job seekers you may find that popular usernames have already been chosen. You can use an email address as your username as this may be easier to remember.

The nick name field is only required if you intend to use the Monster message boards, but you may find it useful to enter this information upon opening an account.

If you wish to be logged in automatically from the computer you are currently working on, choose YES for automatic login. If you choose YES then you will be logged into your account automatically each time you click on My Monster. PLEASE NOTE: Any person who users your computer and clicks on My Monster, will then be logged into your account.

You will also be asked if you wish to receive information and updates via email from Monster. These include press releases, information on the growth of Monster, and new features announcements. This is automatically set to "NO" because we do not wish our users to receive unwanted emails. Only people who actively select "YES" will be signed up for this service.

Monster.co.uk does not sell user lists to third parties so, if you choose this service, all resulting communication will come directly from Monster.co.uk

Once you have completed all relevant fields, click Submit. Your account will be set up and you will be taken to your new My Monster home page.

If, when you click "Submit", the Account Creation form appears again, you have probably missed a field or filled in a box incorrectly. A message should appear in red telling you what the problem is. Add or correct the information requested by this message and click "Submit" again.

3 Common Issues

I complete the registration page, but the upon clicking submit, I keep being returned to the same registration page. What should I do?

You will need to check the top of the registration screen for a message. It may be that the system is asking you to choose a different username or nickname. There should be an alternative offered to you but you are able to choose your own. Remember that any fields with a red asterisk next to them are required information.
