Using keywords
1 How do I use keywords effectively? Keywords are words that are likely to appear in the job adverts you are looking for. They tend to be words or terms that help to more clearly define your chosen job or field. Examples include programmer, SAP, telecommunications, Manchester, human resources, Yahoo, marketing, Scotland, etc. If you use keywords, your search will return all job adverts that have those keywords anywhere within them. So if you are looking for an accountancy position with a Formula One team (you never know!!) you could select the Accountancy/Auditing category and type in the keywords Formula One (italics not needed). This will return any job adverts in the Accountancy/Auditing category that have the words Formula One in the text. However, if you use the keyword manager the search will return all adverts that contain the word manager, which is likely to be quite a few! So it pays to use keywords that are not too general.
